Description of the Product
Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units are commonly used in offshore oil and gas production for hydrocarbon processing, oil storage and more recently facilitating the production and transportation of liquified natural gas (LNG). Safety is paramount for the side-by-side mooring of ships, shuttle tankers, and other vessels to an FPSO, especially in the open sea. Managing a safe working load (SWL) ranging between 60 and 600 tons in weight, hooks are usually deployed for tandem or side by side mooring.
Developed specifically to meet the demanding requirements of FSO, FPSO, FLNG moorings, Glen's high-quality Quick Release Hooks provide resilient and safe mooring for all situations.
Glen Quick Release Offshore Hook is designed in accordance with Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) recommendations, as described in:
Recommendations for Equipment Employed in the Bow Mooring of Conventional Tankers at Single Point Moorings (4th Edition)
OCIMF Tandem Mooring and Offloading Guidelines for Conventional Tankers at F(P)SO Facilities (1st Edition).
Glen's Quick Release Hooks have marine type approval to LR, DNVGL, ABS, BV and RINA, as applicable.
The most common safe working load (SWL) for standard Quick release offshore hooks is 200/250 tons. Glen's advanced manufacturing facility can design and produce hooks for higher capacities if required.
Inspection Certifications: LR/BV/DNV.GL/ABS/CCS etc.

To achieve the highest possible levels of operational performance safety, Glen's Quick Release Offshore Hooks can be fitted with several control system types:
Manual Control: Operation by Means of a Release Lever
Hydraulic Control: Operation via a Locally Situated Control Panel
Remote Control: Operation From either a Control Room or the Vessel’s Bridge
Calibration Services
All Glen Load Cells are calibrated during the load test and - during an Overall System Test - on a specially calibrated test bench. Calibration service is also available. All Glen-issued calibration certificates correspond to widely accepted Marine type approvals, including LR, DNV, RINA, and ABB.
Load Monitoring
Real-time hook loads data can be relayed via a local panel and/or on a bridge panel, with the option available to show loads data as a trend on a chart recorder. In the event of the hook load exceeding a predetermined limit, audible and visual alarms are generated.
